Summer Co-op Adventures 2019 SESSION ONE

9:00am – 4:00pm
Summer Co-op Adventures are designed to foster friendships and promote teamwork through significant, week-long adventures. Open to incoming 7th- and 8th-grade students from Chester, Deep River and Essex. Participants will benefit from working with Tri-Town staff, who have a unique combination of professional, academic and counseling and credentialed agency staff in partnership with hosts and guides from participating venues.

SESSION ONE:
July 8 Empower Ascend amazing teambuilding adventure with guided tree climbing and zip lining through our beautiful local forests
July 9 Hammonassett/Miegs Point food webs, sketching with Fran Curto, learning how plants are used for everyday stuff, chilling at the beach
July 10 Powder Ridge snowboarding (in July? Yep! First-timers can take a lesson), tubing, disc-golf and zip-lines
July 11 White Gate Farm planting project, harvesting fresh produce to take home and meeting and feeding critters
July 12 Cooking Our Lunch (1/2 day) local chefs show us how to make some lunch with our harvested produce, om nom
Program runs daily from 9-4 Monday-Thursday and 9-12:30 on Friday.
Transportation to Tri-Town Youth Services (56 High Street, Deep River) is the participants’ responsibility. Drop off and pickup are at 9 am and 4 pm. Please note: On Friday, drop off and pick up are at 9 am and 12:30 pm at United Church of Chester, 29 W Main Street.
Please arrive 15 minutes early to prepare for each day’s adventure.

Electronics Policy: To encourage active participation among students, we have a NO CELL PHONE policy. This also includes iPods, tablets and other electronic devices. Program staff will have cell phones which parents and participants may use in case of emergency.
Personal Conduct & Discipline: Our commitment to the safety and well-being of all participants requires that all students adhere to instructions and procedures outlined by Tri-Town staff and the hosts and guides at each location. We expect courteous, respectful behavior. Inappropriate behavior will warrant dismissal from the activities, without refund.
Fees: $235 per session. (Each additional sibling is $200- please contact Tri-Town Youth Services directly to register more than one child.)
