The Rainbow Alliance is a community-based GSA providing supportive and affirming social activities for kids on the LGBTQIA+ spectrum and peer allies.

GSA Network is a next-generation LGBTQ racial and gender justice organization that empowers and trains queer, trans and allied youth leaders to advocate, organize, and mobilize an intersectional movement for safer schools and healthier communities.

Rainbow Alliance is open to kids in Connecticut ages 10-18 who are LGBTQIA+ or are a peer ally. We have gone virtual for the 2020-2021 school year. Information and resources are available to both kids and families on the TTYSB Rainbow Alliance page, but we also have a Google Classroom set up just for kids, to facilitate group video chats and game nights. Creative Expression

Loyola University Chicago is conducting a national online study called SnapshoT, using photos on the experience of transgender and gender-diverse youth living in the United States. If you are between 14 and 29 years old and identify as trans, you could participate and be eligible to win a gift card for completing this study. Complete survey

Daily Journal Prompt

  1. Name a smell that brings forward a good memory. It might be the scent of a favorite food, perfume, flower, or candle. Describe what you feel when you encounter that smell.
  2. You hear the sound of crashing waves and the salt-tinged wind tangles your hair. When you climb down the stairs to the beach, what’s the first thing you’re going to do?
  3. My favorite way to spend the day is….
  4. If you traveled back in time to anywhere in the world (and you didn’t have to worry about a timeline paradox), where would you go and what’s one thing you would change in the historical timeline?
  5. How would you define your sense of humor?
  6. List three self-soothing things that bring you comfort or help you during times of uncertainty.
  7. Create a new holiday. Who would celebrate it? What would you do to celebrate?
  8. What connections in nature help you feel calm, hopeful, free, or inspired?
  9. Cats and dogs rule the world. What’s that like?

  24. Write a travel guide for kids coming to your state. What are the must-sees?

  26. You’re planting a garden. What features do you put in it? What do you grow?

  28. List five things that are important to you for you to feel healthy and safe.
