CANCELLED DUE TO STORM! Getting “The Talk” Going

Wednesday, Mar 7, 2018

5:30pm – 7:30pm

An Evening with Jill Whitney, Marriage & Family Therapist, Researcher and Author has been cancelled due to the winter storm on Wednesday night.

Talking with kids about sexuality can make even the most confident parent suddenly feel tongue-tied. Where do I start? What do I say? Can’t I just wait until they’re a few years older?

But we know that sexuality is too important to be silent about.
More than ever, kids need adults’ perspective to offset the sexual pressures of pop culture and social media. We want to be someone our kids can turn to when they have questions, but it’s hard to know how…

Tri-Town Youth Services is hosting a workshop led by Jill Whitney, a licensed marriage and family therapist and author of a forthcoming book on talking with kids about sex.
• Clarify your personal values about sexuality and what you most want to convey to your kids (of any age—it’s never too early and never too late to start!).
• We’ll look at books that can help get the conversation started,
• Talk about how we learned about sex, and
• Explore ways for having worthwhile talks with our own kids.
