Tri-Town’s 4 Wellness Program has gone virtual!
Our in-school Prevention & Wellness Program began in February, but was interrupted by the COVID19 shut-down. Portia Pendleton, LCSW has updated the curriculum to provide 4 weeks of lessons that address 6th graders’ sense of isolation or disconnection from peers during this time of social distancing. She’ll also resume important conversations about healthy decision making in middle school and beyond.
This program is open to all 6th Graders from Chester, Deep River and Essex Elementary Schools. It will run on Wednesday afternoons from May 20-June 10. Participants will receive a weekly email and link to a live Zoom Conference on Wednesdays from 3:00-4:00. Resident State Troopers Luke Larue (Chester) and Mark Roberts (Essex) will join Portia for the live conversations.
Topics to be covered include:
- Stress Management/Emotional Health/Physical Health
- Friendships and Staying Connected
- Cyber Safety
- Looking Ahead to Middle School/Worries/Excitement/Healthy Decision Making
